The Freedom Programme
The majority of people who experience domestic violence are women. The Freedom Programme is a course designed to help women understand what has happened to them and their children as a result of domestic violence.
This programme helps women learn what abusive behaviour is and what they can do to keep themselves and their children safe. It helps them understand how children are affected by domestic abuse and most importantly how their lives are improved when the abuse is removed.
The Freedom Programme facilitators are fully accredited and our programme is specifically designed to meet the learning needs of women with learning disabilities. The course lasts for 6 weeks and is FREE. We can put you in touch with counselling services if needed.
The Freedom Programme was created by Pat Craven and evolved from her work with perpetrators of domestic violence.
Thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund for supporting this project.
